Information
Now that I've published my debut novel, what's next for me? Well, I have a vast, well-developed fantasy world with several already completed stories. A few rounds of edits, and they would be ready to hit the shelves. That would be the logical route to take...
But I'm not very logical. While I was waiting for my debut to return from my editor, I was struck my an idea. I wrote a couple lines, but before I knew it, I had handwritten the entire book. I knew it would be the next thing I would publish.
So what is it?
Victorians. Dragons. And Siam. Think "Around the World in 80 Days" meets "Emily Wilde's Encylopedia of Faires" + dragons.
Why?
I had the idea for a young Victorian woman who believes dragons still exist and will do anything (including marrying a man so she can travel easier) to find them. I decided she would travel to Siam (modern day Thailand) because that is where I grew up. This meant I could explore that time period in Siam, as well as work with Eastern dragons.
I thought the idea was rather original, until I posted about it and discovered there are several series involving Victorian women and dragons. But none in Siam. I have enjoyed diving into those literary works and am eager to join the ranks.
I hope to publish my book this summer. It is away at the editors right now, so I am doing my best to keep on track with promoting it and not starting a new project. I'm very excited about this story. It's a chance to give readers a glimpse of the land I grew up in. And you can never go wrong with a good dragon story...
I will be looking for ARC readers sometime around the end of April (hopefully). Feel free to reach out if you would be interested!

She designed my beautiful cover for Peace Weaver, as well as the cover for this new book. These dragons are one of the elements on the cover.
Stay tuned for the whole cover!
